TIBBIR FAQ

TIBBIR is a fixed-supply crypto token (1 billion, 100% circulating, no presale or team allocation) stealth-launched on January 11, 2025 on Base through the Virtuals Protocol. Its name is 'Ribbit' spelled backwards. Onchain and public-record evidence link it to Micky Malka, founder of Ribbit Capital. Researchers describe it as the identity, trust and coordination layer for AI agents in finance — 'the Visa for AI agents.' Since September 29, 2026 it also lives on Robinhood Chain.

It doesn't stand for anything — it is 'RIBBIT' reversed, a nod to Ribbit Capital. The firm's Token Letter uses the refrain 'invert, always invert.'

Ribbit Capital has never publicly confirmed it. It has also never denied it in 600+ days. The connection rests on evidence: the deployer wallet was funded by an address tied to mickym.eth; SEC filings show Malka-controlled entities named Tibbir Trust and Tibbir Holdings; Ribbit's 2024 Identity Letter names an assistant 'Ribbita AI'; the token's CoinGecko listing (team-editable) says 'closely associated with Ribbit Capital.'

Meyer 'Micky' Malka is a Venezuelan-born entrepreneur and investor who founded Ribbit Capital in 2012. He built Patagon (sold to Santander for ~$750M) and Banco Lemon, bought Bitcoin at under $20 in 2013, seeded Coinbase, and backed Robinhood, Revolut and Nubank. He ranks #2 on Forbes' Midas List. No. TIBBIR was fair-launched on Virtuals with no presale, no private allocation and no team tokens. The @ribbita2012 account said the goal was a launch 'fair and accessible to everyone, rather than controlled by a select group of VCs.' That structure also avoids the hallmarks of a securities offering.

Ribbita is the AI agent persona associated with TIBBIR. @ribbita2012 (2012 = Ribbit's founding year) is its X account, automated by @ribbita2025. It began as a cryptic hint-dropping bot, then bought CryptoPunk #9098 as its onchain identity (July 2025), launched ribbita.ai and an autonomous store (January 2026), and opened the Robinhood Chain bridge (September 2026). Its bio: 'The next wave is coming.'

The official site. Launched January 28, 2026 as the home of the Ribbita Store — 'the world's first agentic company' — and since September 29, 2026 it hosts the one-way Base → Robinhood Chain bridge for TIBBIR.

Published by Ribbita in January 2026: Q1 — KYA with Visa, Smart Wallet ID tokens with Coinbase. Q2 — Visa Intelligent Commerce, financial identity for AI agents (EU AI Act aligned), AI marketplace on Ratio1. Q3–Q4 — Trusted Agent Protocol, institutional compliance at scale, financial agent rails via Intuit, SME financial agents. Visa launched Intelligent Commerce Connect on April 8, 2026, on schedule.

The agent-era version of KYC: a cryptographic identity for an AI agent, bound to a verified human or company, with permissions, reputation and an audit trail. Ribbit's 2024 letter predicted it would be bigger than KYC; Visa's Trusted Agent Protocol now requires it; Ant International, Visa and Mastercard announced KYA interoperability work in September 2026.

Ribbit's term for a reusable, revocable, user-controlled container of your credentials, preferences and permissions — verify once, share only what's needed, take it back at will. It's the identity side of the TIBBIR thesis.

Ribbit's June 2025 letter frames every company as a factory that issues, consumes and exchanges tokens of three kinds: identity (who you are), expert (what you know) and asset (what you own). The thesis says TIBBIR is the layer that lets those factories talk to each other.

Finance where AI agents — not humans clicking buttons — do the work: paying, investing, booking, negotiating. Ribbit, OpenAI, Robinhood and Crossmint co-hosted the first 'Hacking for Agentic Finance' hackathon in November 2024. See /agentic-commerce/.

A 24-hour event in San Francisco on November 1–2, 2024, co-organized by Ribbit Capital with OpenAI, Robinhood, Solana, Bridge, Crossmint and others. Micky Malka and OpenAI's Romain Huet judged; Vlad Tenev gave a fireside chat. The brief asked 'What does the Visa for agents look like?' CoinGecko lists TIBBIR as a 'key partner.'

Virtuals is the Base-native platform where AI agents exist as economic objects with identity, wallets and tokens, and where agents hire each other via the Agent Commerce Protocol. TIBBIR fair-launched there. Virtuals' co-founder quoted Ribbit's tagline two months after launch; another co-founder called TIBBIR 'foundational tech' trading like a meme.

About $0.44 on October 28, 2025, per Altcoinist's September 2026 snapshot. Market cap has ranged from ~$1.4M at launch to roughly $200M in late 2026.

It trades on decentralized exchanges on Base (and now Robinhood Chain) rather than major centralized exchanges. Typical routes: a Base-compatible wallet plus a DEX or aggregator, or trading bots such as Altcoinist's. Verify the contract address first. It launched like one (fair launch on Virtuals, frog branding, no announcement), and it still trades like one. The research case is that it's infrastructure in stealth — a Virtuals co-founder said it's 'trading like a meme instead of a foundational tech, cuz honestly you can't access much of the tech.' Whether that tech ships is the open question.

In July 2025 Ribbita airdropped a non-transferable commemorative NFT, created via Crossmint, to every wallet holding at least 1 TIBBIR. Community researchers noticed the coin pictured in Ribbit's Token Letter appears to be the other side of that NFT.

A legal entity that appears in SEC Form 4 filings with Micky Malka as investment adviser; in May 2024 it received $5M of Robinhood stock from Malka's holdings. Filings also list Tibbir Holdings LLC with Malka as manager. Both predate the token and are the clearest paper-trail link.

No. TIBBIR confers no equity in Ribbit, no claim on its funds or portfolio, and no promised revenue. Any economic link would have to come from arrangements the project itself commits to (such as the store's buy-and-burn), which remain small and unconfirmed at network scale.

Visa doesn't move money — it answers 'can this counterparty be trusted?' billions of times a day and is worth $600B+ for it. The thesis says the agent economy needs the same invisible trust layer — issuing agent identities, tracking reputation across chains, returning a trust score before money moves — and that TIBBIR/Ribbita is being built to be it. Ribbit co-founder Zack Rosen publicly described people in his network 'building the Visa equivalent for AI agents (a trust layer).'

Altcoinist's September 2026 model: a network coordinating financial work for 4M users and 60K businesses at a 0.50% designated fee earns ~$800M/yr; at a 120× multiple on token-directed fees with 919M tokens remaining, that implies ~$100 per token ($52 at 60×). A crypto research and trading-tools team (@Altcoinist, co-founded by Konstantin Sebeo) that has published the most detailed public research on TIBBIR since February 2025, including the 'I Will Retire You' trilogy. This site organizes their work and other public sources; it is independent of them.

In 2026 the SEC's updated crypto taxonomy listed 'Digital Tools — not securities,' explicitly including 'identity badge' tokens. The community reads this as a regulatory runway for exactly the category TIBBIR has positioned for.

Ribbita's September 29, 2026 post: 'TIBBIR was built for real world assets. The Robinhood Chain has built an incredible ecosystem for tokenized assets onchain.' Robinhood is a Ribbit portfolio company whose CEO replied 'Bring it on' to Ribbita; its chain integrated Virtuals' agent infrastructure at launch.
